Phalanger 3.0 on ubuntu (debian)

Postby tleslie » August 13th, 2012, 2:05 am

As i am setting up a Phalanger 3 install on ubuntu 12.04 server, i thought
i would log some of my issues here.:
in the script on

http://wiki.php-compiler.net/Installation/3.0/Linux

on a debian based system, the xmlstarlet inserts are somewhat flawed.
The PhpNetXmlDom inserts to machine.config fail, and then kill the mono
(gacutil -l for example will now fail), so i commented out the PhpNetXmlDom insert
in the script and did by hand.
The web.config also is flawed. On ubuntu/debian in the default web.config
there are two "catch all" paths at end of the httpHandlers section,

<add path="*" verb="GET,HEAD,POST" type="System.Web.DefaultHttpHandler" validate="True"/>
<add path="*" verb="*" type="System.Web.HttpMethodNotAllowedHandler" validate="True"/>

The xmlstarlet will insert the *.php at the end, after the defaults, and thus
php files will not be rendered, but rather just "download".

Addressing the above and following the rest of
the instructions does now have me able to render the phpinfo.php file
properly.
I will try a mvc3 app now (will post any other issues i have).

in ubuntu/debian there is a ref to /etc/mono-server4 in the apache2/../mod-mono.conf, this in turn has the mod_mono Module set up,
it is different to what is in the example, so I am not sure there will be an
issue there.

There is another installation script - https://github.com/DEVSENSE/Phalanger/t ... on%20Linux - looks little more updated.
