Can we really use native extensions?

Postby MattFromGA » January 13th, 2012, 11:39 pm

I want to use the mongodb php extension for a project. I have the native extension for it, but cannot figure out how to properly get it to be used.

extension=php_mongo.dll

I figured out how to use extutil, but I guess the MongoDB extension is 5x extension and wont work.

Has anyone gotten the mongodb extensions working in Phalanger?

php_mongo is really not included in Phalanger by now. Since it is database extension and performance is critical, I would recommend to rewrite the extension into C# (there is already C# MongoDB API, so it would not be difficult).

Another option would be to try PHP 5 extension support and Extutil as you said. There might be just some modifications needed in Phalanger's configuration. However I cannot be sure about the stability of the native extension.
