Latest WordPress 4.4 (or 4.0+) working?

My interest is to hopefully host a large WordPress site using Phalanger. A year ago, I believe there was an issue with missing support for "PHP Streams".
Is it now possible to get a current version of WordPress working? If not, what are the issues and is there a timeline?
We would like to license some of your tools, unless there are some show-stoppers. Thank you.
