IntelliSense for HTML

Postby sprinter » March 18th, 2013, 9:31 am

Hi,

I'm working with PHP Tools and I like the IntelliSense support in pute php-files. But what about IntelliSense for the markup in mixed files. Those are most common in UI-projects and I can not figure out, how to set it up.

Do I miss something or is it simply not available? Would be bad for me, because PHP Tools would be useless for most of my projects :( .

Thx,

Hi sprinter,

Full HTML support is planned in a future update. We'll keep you informed in this thread.

Thanks!

Hi Jakub,

thanks for the info. Can you estimate some more specific time-frame? I wonder if I should switch to some different editor meanwhile. If you could say something like "Ask me again next year, dude!" I would be able to make my decision :)

Hi,

This is planned right into the next major update (1.7). I would estimate we can provide private beta in a month.

Thanks

Sorry if I'm getting annoying! But could you give me an update on this? Customers are asking me and I want to use it in my projects too. Would be nice to know about the expected time :D.

Thanks,
Alex

Any new information about that topic? I'm using htm templates in combination with view models (template variables) and intellisense would be a great feature there, something similar to:

Code: Select all
<?php
    /** @var $template Account */
?>
<ul>
   <li>
      AccountID: <?= $template->accountID ?>
   </li>
   <li>
      AccountName: <?= $template->accountName ?>
   </li>
</ul>

Hi,

We already support IntelliSense of templated variables (see attachment below). In global code, variables should be documented using @global PHPDoc keyword. We can check whether @var is commonly used in global code too, and add its support as well. More at http://www.devsense.com/doc/phptools/ed ... c-comments

IntelliSense of HTML code is planned into the next release.

Thanks

Just an update. Version 1.8.4452 adds IntelliSense and formatting support for HTML code (see http://www.devsense.com/products/php-to ... /changelog), not css or js.

Morover now we are ready to release preview version with full HTML/JS/CSS support, including support for extensions like web essentials.
