Support for regions

Postby codeowl » February 21st, 2013, 3:46 am

Hi guys,

Is there already, or are we likely to see support for regions in <?php ?> php tags.

Eg; C#
#region
// some code here
#endregion

I have see extensions for VS that add region support to JavaScript using:
//#region

//#endregion

and in VS2012 CSS is supported using:
/*#region*/

/*#endregion*/

Some support for regions inside <?php ?> tags would be awesome.

Scott

Hi Scott,

This feature is included in upcoming version 1.6. There will be support for following collapsible regions:
- <?php ... ?>
- multilined comments /* ... */
- multilined singleline comments //

Thanks,

I am using this feature heavily in the 1.6 Beta and it works great.
I am using the "C# style" so just the following:
Code: Select all
#region NAME
//code
#endregion

Even works togehter with my Region Highlights extension.

This features works in earlier version too. In 1.6 we are adding outlining support for <?php ...?> and multilined comments.

New version has been released, so you can try additional outlining options.

BTW regions work also with standard single line comments
Code: Select all
//region ABC
//endregion

Jakub,

Hey mate... how can I do a region inside a <Script> element in a .ctp page?
I have mapped this to PHP Editor in the VS Options/Text Editor/Extensions ;-)
