VS2012 hangs after the update

Postby s_nagul » January 16th, 2013, 11:34 pm

Hi,

My plugin was working very well but yesterday, i updated the plugin and now when i run it, it comes with an error message as "only one usage of each socket address is normally permitted" and the browser hangs.

After a restart of machine and for the first time, it works and then again same thing.

Can you please help ?

Hi Shaik,

Could you please tell me what version do you have now? Is it the one from Visual Studio gallery? 1.5.3865 ?

And what PHP version do you use and what settings do you have? PHP builtin, IIS Express or other server?

Thanks

Hi,

Previous version, I do not know but the current version is v1.5.3865

I have updated this version from vs2012. The before version, i have downloaded and installed.

My PHP config didn't change or i haven't change anything as everything was working absolutely fine.

I am running on PHP built in webserver.

Let me know if you still wants to have a look at my php.ini.

PHP Version is v5.4.10 .

Thank you. Could you please also check Windows Resource Monitor (In Task manager > Performance tab there is Resource Monitor). Go to Network tab, Listening Ports section if there isn't some application listening on port 9000?

Hi,

I have just unistalled the latest version which is v1.5.3865 and I am back on old version which is v1.5.3802
and it works with no problems.

I have installed the old version from a installer.

Can you please let me know what is needed to get the update ?

Thank you very much, this is very useful information in order to track the issue. I'm going to investigate the changes incorporated into the new version.

If you'd have any more information to give me it would be greatly appreciated. e.g. exact steps to reproduce the issue.

Hi,

With the latest version, what I did is run the project first time and it works fine.
Stop the project and rerun again and this time, it throws an error as port is being used already and when you say ok, it opens the browser and hangs for a while on it.

Hmm, I'm not able to reproduce it and there isn't any change in debugger from version 3802->3865. So there has to be something else.

Could you please also send me your php.ini file?
Does this happen to you with any PHP script? or with some particular one?
Do you have more instances of VS opened trying to debug more PHP scripts in the same time? (that's not supported at this moment and it would show you the message)
