PHP code is grey

Postby Miloslav Beno » May 25th, 2012, 5:37 pm

If I open a PHP file, it stays gray as it has always been. Do I have to include the PHP file in a solution in order to be able to work on it using your extension?

This is typically caused by an old settings in Visual Studio, where .php files were probably assigned with an other editor in Visual Studio.

In VS, please try to File -> Open -> File, choose some .php file, and click Open With. A dialog should be opened, where you have to select PHP Editor and “Set as Default”.

This is common issue. I hope this will help.

Thank you very much for your help. The first time, I opened the PHP file by dragging and dropping it on top of Visual Studio; now that I have gone through your steps, it works fine every time I open a PHP file.
