PHP Tools [?] extends Visual Studio with set of advanced features to work more efficiently with PHP code.

Method not found ‘System.String.Web.Core.Text(‘

Hello,

This is original message from a developer, I hope it can help someone who will face same issue.

After upgrading to Visual Studio 2017 v.15.6 running PHP Tools v.1.23.9750, I was unable to open any .htm or .php files. At first I received the message that started with:

Method not found ‘System.String.Web.Core.Text(‘

Sorry that I don't have more, it was what I was using in Google to see if I could find the problem.

After uninstalling the older version and installing PHP Tools v.1.26.10606 I was able to open the files, so I've renewed my license.

I can no longer reproduce the error message since I've updated the PHP Tools version.

This happens in older versions of PHP Tools, because Microsoft has changed API for HTML editor in 15.6, so just a new version of PHP Tools will work with it.

Thanks!
