v1.25.10474, error during version update on vs2017

Postby gmolinari » January 15th, 2018, 4:18 pm

HI,

I got an error during PHP Tools update on vs2017.

I'm attaching the installation log. Should I unistall the component before installing the new version?

Thanks for your help.

Regards,
GM

Hello,

Thanks for the post. Yes, the version you have previously installed cannot be auninstalled automaticaly by VSIX installer. Please uninstall it first and then install the latest one. That should work.

Just note for anyone who has similar problem. Please check the vsix log for this line (version might differ):

Code: Select all
Package '8069B697-77E0-411D-9CE2-6E8FC83D1DFA,version=1.25.10474' failed to install. System.IO.IOException: The file 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio\2017\Enterprise\MSBuild\DEVSENSE\PHP Tools\VS15.0\Devsense.PHP.BuildTasks.dll' already exists.

Please just uninstall previous version first, then install a new version.
