Nothing working after VS2017 update :(

I have just updated my VS2017 to the latest version (RC3 I think) and PHP Tools has stopped working. :( I have done previous updates without a problem and this is the first time this has happened.

VS2017 version is: 15.0.0-RC.3+26127.3
PHP Tools version is: 1.22.9523.2017

There is an exception immediately on starting visual studio. I have attached the ActivityLog.xml file.

I am also now unable to open any of my projects or even create new ones. When opening an existing one there is a "(incompatible)" status next to the project name in the solution explorer. Creating new PHP projects gives me a "Creating project 'PHPWebProject1'... project creation failed" in the status bar at the bottom of the screen.

Hopefully you guys can find the problem pretty quick.

Thanks.

Jamie

Still no go for me unfortunately. There was no change after updating and the symptoms are the same.

I did notice that VS2017 got another update in the middle of all this. Versions are now:

Visual Studio 2017: 15.0.0-RC.4+26206.0
PHP Tools: 1.23.9599.2017

I guess it's like hitting a moving target with these Micro$soft guys...

Also tried to remove the extension and re-install. After that it was disabled, so in "Tools & Extensions" I tried to re-enable it but it complained that relied on the disabled extension "Test Explorer". To be able to enabled it I had to go into VS Installer and install "Test Tools Platform" (i think) and then it would enable. However, it still errors on startup and has the "Incompatible" label next to the project name.

Hope that all helps.

Thanks.

Hi!

It's exactly as you've described... hitting the moving target :-)

Anyway please try the latest update, the issue seems to be missing dependency. Which was included in the VS in the previous builds, but it's not in the current.

If the problem persist, may I ask you to provide us with the activity log?

Thanks so much!
