Thanks for the post.

1.) I'll have to take a look what we receive from Xdebug, if string is screwed in Xdebug itself it will be hard to fix that for us. If it's on our end we'll fix it for some of the future updates.

2. The checkbox doesn't work at the moment, but I'm looking at it right now. I'll inform about the progress.

About encoding of exceptions, we'll fix it in future version. Out of curiosity, do you use your system default encoding or do you use UTF8?

We'll have to investigate this more as we can't find any extension points for this right now.

When you have a file opened you can go to File | Advanced Save Options and you'll see current encoding of the file.

Cyrillic - Windows-1251. Is there way to change default code page? (If I can ask about Visual Studio in this forum).

In Visual Studio itself there is just an option to save a file to unicode when it cannot save in current encoding. Tools | Options | Environment | Documents | Save documents as Unicode when data cannot be saved in codepage http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/4z4b7zzx.aspx Which won't help a lot in this case.

But in PHP Tools we do have an option to force UTF8 when file gets saved. Tools | Options | Test Editor | PHP | Advanced | Override PHP files encoding .

It's strange, but I didn't see this option.

I see. The option I was talking about is on your screenshot the last one. The name is screwed up, but try to switch it to Force option. So when you save a file it will be UTF8.

Btw. The strange option name appears on some VS installations. It was fixed for the next minor update.
