New user - php debugger turns on, breakpoint never triggered
Hi there,
I'm just trying out PHPTools with a brand spankin' new copy of Visual Studio 2013! I'm excited - so far setup looks like a breeze. However, when I run my php website to debug and put a breakpoint on one of the first lines of php in my index.php.. I hit F5, my website shows up in my browser.... and nothing happens.
I tried running both the PHP-builtin webserver which auto-assigns a port and my nGinX running on my local machine. Still nothing.
I do get the system tray icon for PHP Debugger popping up and DEBUG_SESSION_ID does show up in my URL's query string, but the debugger never breaks.
Please help! This looks like a great extension and I would very much like to get me and my team using it for my PHP projects.
Thanks,
Mark

Actually, now when I run it with the built-in webserver it just spins and doesn't host anything, until I detach the debugger in visual studio. I'm not sure if I did anything.
I should mention this is with PHP v5.4.8.

I fixed the issue. It was due the fact I use php-cgi which runs by default on port 9000, which is also the default port for XDebug. Switching XDebug port to 9001 fixed the problem.

Hi Mark,
I'm glad you've solved this one! What version of PHP Tools are you trying? It's supposed to tell you that other application is already listening on this port.
Thank you!

Hi Miroslav,
This was the latest version of PHPTools as of December 8th with Visual Studio 2013 ultimate. I do not know where the version number for the add-in is.
