File associations

Postby BladeMF » November 11th, 2013, 2:52 pm

Hi guys. Long time no see :)

I just reinstalled windows and now I am the proud owner of windows 8.1. When I installed PHPTools it did not register the php_auto_file_vs and phpproj_auto_file_vs keys. I don't know if it is supposed to, but php files have no icons in Windows Explorer and I remember that we discussed that heavily. I can also remind that every time I upgrade PHP Tools I had to manually fix the paths in those two keys.

What is the status on this?

P.S. Am I still subscribed to the beta releases? I can see some very old topics there, nothing new.

Hi!

We've moved *preview* releases to http://www.devsense.com/products/php-to ... ad/preview

File association is done automatically by VS now; it should be in
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\VisualStudio.php.10.0
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\VisualStudio.php.11.0
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\VisualStudio.php.12.0
(depends on VS version)

Yep, I just noticed that the file icons in Explorer have changed after 1.9 install.

I lost them again somehow. Just restarted explorer.exe and no joy. Ideas?

VS handles them, so restarting VS should help.

Allright, GUESS WHAT? The path is wrong again. It must have happened yesterday when I installed 1.9 or something. WTF, guys? Why is this so persistent?

Restarting the VS didn't help, I tested. Could it be that I AM doing something unexpected?

What path are you looking for?

Visual Studio updates path to the icons file on every startup.
ProgId for that is "VisualStudio.php.11.0"

This is being updated when you start VS in registry in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\VisualStudio.php.11.0
