SMTP connection problem
Hello,
I am testing PHP Tools for Visual Studio 2010. When trying to send an email using SwiftMailer I get an exception:
It seems like there is a problem connecting to SMTP server.
I have XAMPP 1.8.1 installed, when I use XAMPP Apache module there is no problem sending an email, but when using Visual Studio and PHP Tools (with XAMPP Apache module disabled) I am getting the above error.
Any ideas how to solve this problem?

Re: SMTP connection problem
Hello,
I'm glad you're trying our tools.
This issue is related to the server configuration. So you should check whether actual PHP is configured correctly for use with SwiftMailer.
There might be two or more installations of PHP (Tools | Options | PHP Tools | Interpreters). Here you can also check whether the installation supports debugging and to check its configuration file.
For advanced users, there is another option. You can force Visual Studio to run project on your Apache server. Open your project properties (Project | .. Properties) and setup Use Custom Web Server (http://www.devsense.com/doc/phptools/debug/remote-debug). In such case the project on your apache server would start, you just have to ensure debugging capabilities are installed correctly.
Please let me know if it works for you, or if you would have any more details. Thanks!

Re: SMTP connection problem
I changed the Start Action > Start URL setting to "http://{my vhost name for current project}" and now there is no problem with sending e-mails.
"my vhost name for current project" is taken from XAMPP Apache config (the file {xampp path}/apache/conf/extra/httpd-vhosts.conf) as I used before working with PHP Tools. Of course I have to still run Apache on XAMPP.
Thanks for your help.
